All you need to know to set up your PSP.
Inserting the battery 1. Remove the battery cover. On the rear of the PSP system, hold down the PUSH button and slide the battery cover open as indicated. 2. Insert the Battery Pack. Align the bottom surface of the Battery Pack with the PSP system to attach. 3. Replace the battery cover. Align the tabs on the cover with the spaces on the PSP system and slide the battery cover in until it locks firmly into place
Charging the battery 1. Attach power supply. Connect the AC Adaptor to the DC IN 5V Connector on the bottom right of the PSP system. 2. Connect to power supply. Plug the AC Adaptor into an electrical outlet. The POWER indicator turns orange, indicating that charging has begun. The POWER indicator will turn off when the battery is fully charged. Inserting Memory Stick Duo 1. Insert Memory Stick Duo Open the Memory Stick Duo slot cover on the left side of the PSP system and insert the Memory Stick Duo in the direction of the arrow, ensuring that the side with writing on it is facing away from you. 2. Eject Memory Stick Duo. To eject the Memory Stick Duo, open the slot cover and press gently inwards on the Memory Stick Duo to release it.
Formatting Memory Stick Duo You must format a Memory Stick Duo before using it with your PSP. Doing so will create the necessary folders for storing, and viewing, media files on the Memory Stick Duo. Any existing data on the Memory Stick Duo will be erased during the process, so ensure that you have made a back-up of any files that you wish to keep before proceeding. 1. Select the "Format Memory Stick" option. The option is found within the [System Settings] menu, underneath [Settings]. 2. Format the Memory Stick Duo. You will be prompted to confirm you would like to format the Memory Stick Duo - select "Yes" using the directional buttons and press the X button to proceed. 3. Confirm your choice. Because formatting the Memory Stick Duo erases all data, you will be asked again to confirm that you would like to proceed. In order to proceed and format the Memory Stick Duo, press the X button.
Select language 1. Locate [System Settings]. From the Home Menu, use the directional buttons to navigate to and select [Settings] > [System Settings]. 2. Locate Language Settings. Use the directional buttons to navigate to the System Language option and use the X button to select. 3. Select Language. Use the directional buttons to select your language and click the X button to confirm.
Select time and date 1. Locate [Date & Time Settings]. From the Home Menu, use the directional buttons to navigate to [Settings] > [Date & Time Settings} and press the X button to select. 2. Edit Settings. From this menu, you may amend the following settings: Date and Time; Date Format; Time Format; Time Zone; Daylight Saving. Select Nickname You will need to set up a Nickname. This will identify your PSP to other users. 1. Locate [System Settings]. From the Home Menu, use the directional buttons to navigate to [Settings]> [System Settings] and press the X button to select. 2. Locate Nickname. Use the directional buttons to navigate to Nickname option and use the X button to select. 3. Edit Nickname. Use the on-screen keyboard to make changes to your Nickname.
