A picture can paint a thousand words thanks to the PS3 system's ability to store, organise and display your digital photos.
With a 60GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) at your disposal, PLAYSTATION® 3 is the ideal home for all your photographic memories. Transfer your images from your Memory Stick, SD Memory Card or CompactFlash memory via the ports on your PS3, or connect an array of other devices - such as your PSP™, digital camera, camera phone, USB drive, etc - via the relevant cable into one of the USB ports. Once stored on the PS3 HDD, you can organise the photos into folders, view in an array of slideshows and even send to your Friends on the PLAYSTATION®Network. You can also access images stored on your PS3 HDD via Remote Play with your PSP™. Your digital photo albums, holding years and years of memories are now literally at your fingertips.
Add special effects
Find out how you can add special effects to your media with EyeCreate.
Go to the media capture screen and then select the [Effects] tab to view special effects and options.
[Colour Filters]: Change the colour filter tone on your clip to Red, Green, Blue, X-Ray, Black and White, Negative or Sepia.
[Distortion]: Distort your clip using Stretch, Pinch, Bloat, Ripple, Pattern, Sculpt, Polarise, Disturb, Twist, 3D or Reflect.
[Art Filters]: Apply a filter to your clip in the style of Pop Art, Graphic, Edge Detect, Sketch, Toon, Posterise, Screen Print or Surface.
[Trails]: Add Glow, Action, Neon or Ghost trails to your clip.
Hint:
* One effect can be selected in each sub-menu to add multiple effects to your clip.
Capture media
Find out how you can capture audio, video and audio with EyeCreate.
On the Capture menu, select the [Capture] icon. From there you can choose to take a photo, begin capturing a movie or start a sound recording. All captured clips will be displayed at the bottom of the screen on a review bar. You can scroll through captured media and play a recorded clip. Push the right stick to the left and a clip will rewind; push the right stick to the right and it will fast forward.
Each clip can be deleted from this menu or altered with the [Effects & Options] tab.
Note:
* EyeCreate saves data automatically while recording and editing clips. Do not switch off the power when the HDD access indicator is flashing.
Trim your images
PS3 lets you trim your images so you can show off the best bits only.
You can trim images under Photo. Press the Triangle button while an image is displayed to display the control panel, and then select [Trimming]. Press the X button again to begin the trimming process. Use the left and right sticks of the Wireless Controller to select the range you want to retain.
You can use the left stick of the Wireless Controller to scroll in any direction and use the right stick to zoom in or out. The trimmed image is saved using a different name.
* Only images saved on the PS3 system’s hard disk can be trimmed.
Group content
With PS3, you can group similar content together to make it quicker to access.
You can select [Group Content] when changing a file or folder icon.
You can change the icon for a file or folder saved on the hard disk of the PS3 system on the screen that is displayed when you select [Information] from the options menu. By selecting [Group Content] on this screen, you can sort displayed images by date. Use this feature to search for a specific image from among many image files.
You cannot change the icon for some file types.
